In the Beginning...

Imagine a world where the first idea was the only idea.  A world where Batman always looked like Adam West or where Mickey Mouse remained black and white and whistled on a steam boat.  Like with everything else, it's good to evolve in design.  It's good to brainstorm as many ideas as possible and go with the best one.  Often, the best one at that moment gets better over time.

Design is about creating function with finesse.  It's about the necessity rather than the ornamentation.  It's taking a "problem" and creating a solution with function, efficiency, and safety in mind, but adding that spark of artistry to draw people in.  Adding textures and patterns and shape can not only be visually appealing, but can also enhance it's function.
