The trend right now is GREEN. I'm not talking about the color necessarily. I am talking about green spaces. In this case, green walls, or vertical gardens. The idea behind a green wall is to make up for space that is occupied by a building and actually planting greenery, flowers, herbs, grass, etc. on a wall. Not only can this concept beautify a space, but it can serve a practical purpose as well.
Not only can these be an outside attraction, but they can be done indoors as well. It's always nice to bring the outdoors in when creating a calming space.
There are more practical applications as well. Maybe you live in an apartment with a balcony or somewhere with just a small porch, but you want the joy of growing your own vegetables and flowers. You don't want to be left out of the gardening fun. Having a vertical garden is easy and space efficient. You can use just about anything that hangs or stands upright. As long as there is good drainage (this can be achieved by putting gravel under your soil layer or adding small holes to your planters) and amount of sun needed for the specific plants you are planting,
it's hard to make a mistake. The important thing is have fun and be creative.
